WSJ: U.S. has a plan to monitor ceasefire
The United States has developed a preliminary plan to monitor the ceasefire in Ukraine once an agreement is reached with Russia. This was reported by the Wall Street Journal, citing its own source on condition of anonymity, and explaining that the draft plan was presented in Paris by American officials to their European and Ukrainian counterparts. The WSJ notes that the details of the plan have not been disclosed. A new meeting between American, European, and Ukrainian officials is scheduled to take place next week in London to continue the talks.
Although the details of the U.S.-developed monitoring plan have not been made public, Ukrainian presidential advisor Andriy Yermak described the Paris meetings as βvery substantial.β U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed that the issue of security guarantees for Ukraine had been discussed in Paris but declined to speak publicly about any proposals.
